those nights you never forget |
november 30, herzogenaurach //... just heading through downtown Erlangen, the morning after a great night in Herzogenaurach, at soul brother Smiley and Bea's Ratskeller (I like to call it the 'Rats'... THANKS to all the folks who came out and witnessed the 'rebirth'... it's comin on! so great to hang with everybody. now before I get on the train across Bavaria, destination Regensburg's Christmas market (nice one!!), let's pop this killer picture of Janique's up online here-- (more to come) this night in Köln (or Cologne, to some) was something absolutely perfect and I will look forward patiently to the next chance to play Micha's back room... you can't believe the vibe in here, the songs came out PER-fectly, the room was full and sweaty and the night carried on and on and was a gas. a billion thanks to Chris and Janique-- Chris set the show up, Janique took the pictures and the both hosted me at their lovely place near the center of this amazing town... a long and soulful night. | | |

 november 28, bern //... ahh great shot, that one... courtesy of Mr. Martin Dietl, or as I like to call him, Captain Shreddy-Pants. no less credit for killer Finlay shots goes to his girlfriend Anja Aschenbrunner, who took the picture used on my posters, hung here and there across Europe. anyways, every time that I go over to their place, the guitars come out not long after arrival, and then it's blissful jams into the morning hours. last time we even recorded it and I think there's some great stuff in there. I am so blessed. now, the night before an epic train ride across Germany, through Balingen to visit the brother Flo of my beloved Sonnenkeller, I sit up in bed and reflect on what's in store... with an eye to Nurnburg, Regensburg, Herne, Trier, Mainz and Bern. ok I really should get to bed since I have to roll in... 6 hours. so excited to play for you guys out there!.. I even have written a new little stück yesterday that only needs words, to make an official debut on these coming stages. damn it- I'm up for the challenge! listen for it in my set, starting possibly even tomorrow night. ok I gotta sleep... see you at Smiley and Bea's impeccable Ratskeller tomorrow night, in ever-friendly Herzogenaurach... | | |

 november 10, mainz //... how could time possibly fly so fast?.. how could we possibly ever forget the love around us. the smiling face above belongs to the good brother Joe (Schlaubi)... a rock of faith for Finlay and officially... the graphic designer for the next record. of course we are still early in the next record's production, but I want to keep you up to speed in every step. Austria, we loved you... missing our friends and stages already. now that Ryan and I have stood on top of Liege, the delightfully-delayed Deutsche Bahn has brought me back to Sven and Yvonne's, in Mainz, where I relax the afternoon away and anticipate the SEMUC release show tonight at the KulturCafe (www.semuc.de)... sometimes it is so great to be in the audience (and especially when you enjoy the band). next up is Köln on wednesday... meet me at the Ruby my friends! | | |
