Songs available on iTunes

brought to you by... Dayton Boots!

april 27, north vancouver //... good morning from the coast... where your man Morgan is making reports and crossing things off. the process of life, of course! many of you got a close-up view of those black cowboy boots that I wore for three and a half years (yikes)... I had them resoled and still burned them down to the ground. most memorable was sliding out across the deck in the Frankfurt train station... guitar, bag, food all come crashing down. no longer!! now that I have had a chance to look at all my gear, and make some decisions, I decided to reach out to the best boots company in the West, Dayton Boots, and see if they would get on board the Brisco Bodai Express. So it is that officially, I introduce you (or re-introduce you) to Dayton Boots, my newest supporter! made in Vancouver since 1946, the toughest and best looking boots around (that you probably thought were made in the US) are known throughout North America and beyond as high quality sh*t-kickers. as everyone knows I am always pulling for the home brands, the little companies that are in the fight and put out great stuff. as it happens, they have just began distributing in Deutschland, and are available in select cities (so far)... schau mal mein freund!... www.daytonboots.com is the address, and the boots I am blessed with are the Bourbon Confederates (www.daytonboots.com/shop/footwear). Damn, the road has never looked this good. action shots coming soon! can't wait to dig these into some of those stages and strasses back in DE-AT-CH...

a bird!.. a plane!.. a camino nuevo

april 2, north vancouver //... ahh these days of contemplation. how are you doing?.. today Berlin is on my mind big-time and to celebrate this fact I put a picture that I tore out of a 1996 National Geographic issue up on our fridge. just the thought of this city draws me into such a happy, creative and busy place! hard to believe that it was almost two years ago that I was living up there, breathing the air and burning to get back home to Prenzlauer. of course it would only get better when Kendra and I travelled back together, and we were both sad that we didn't get up there one last time before the flight across the planet... oh well. the above was sent to me by the charming Natalia, we met at one of those Europa Park shows and stayed in touch. these days find her in Spain and she randomly sent me this picture and inscription. creative souls of the world-- here comes the sun!

a garden that's bursting into life

march 7, north vancouver //... woke up today and the clocks went back-- oops- we adjust again. now I will go hiking one hour later... but it is all good. the forest will still be there! hope that your weekend on planet earth has been smooth (that's a nice wish isn't it). here on the coast I am getting updates the world over, hadn't quite imagined how cool it would be to be something of a hub of international news! haha I mean to hear life stories from friends and fans who are spread out everywhere (doing everything) is really such a strong connection to the world for me. it has been truly feeding things, in and out of my daily lives. updates on the studio project: going to be talking about some serious isolation techniques-- recording at home is not easy! starting to think that I will record the core tracks outside our place, then drag them back into the apartment for editing. all up in the air... right where they belong for now! for the up to the minute, click over to the Inner Circle (beware the randomness)... in the meantime, above is Mathias looking out at the Ost See (I believe)... I used this shot a long time ago but it's such a classic that I had to publish it again. and here is a link to some great songs, from a Toronto friend and hero of mine, Dean Drouillard... personal favourites are 'Today' and 'Nothing Stays'... http://www.last.fm/music/Dean+Drouillard. enjoy your life, in your space.
